The residents of Deerlake Village (with the exception of the condominium owners and a few older cottages) belong to the Deerlake Village Community Association (DVCA) which is charged with the following responsibilities: maintenance of home and property values for all properties within the Association, maintenance of the common grounds and facilities that are available to all DVCA members, preservation and protection of the beautiful natural surroundings which include a 38 acre conservancy, and sound fiscal management of the community. Adopted in 2006, the Deerlake Village Declaration of Covenants and Bylaws reflect the needs and wishes of the majority of the residents. The DVCA Board of Directors, aided by numerous committees, strives to implement these directives in such a way that addresses the varied and changing needs of the residents. The City of Brevard, Transylvania County and the national forest lands offer a wonderful array of educational, recreational and cultural opportunities for residents of diverse interests, skills, and levels of participation. Deerlake Village residents enjoy a high quality of life here in the midst of the Land of Waterfalls.
